Red type dye turns black when coming in contact with water. A natural dye that chemically reacts with the steel to darken the trap. A trap lasts longer, makes them hard to see by man or animal. Add 1lb. of dye to 20 gallons of water . Will do 3-5 doz. traps. Bring traps to boil, simmer for several hours, but do not allow traps to boil over 3 minutes. To wax, reheat, draw traps up through melted wax and hang up.
